Another Successful Term of the AIA’s CKLDP Program Comes to an End

The Christopher Kelley Leadership Development Program (CKLDP) in Puerto Rico recently concluded its 2023-2024 session, marking another successful year of fostering future leaders in the architectural profession. This prestigious program, organized by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and named after the late Christopher Kelley, an influential emerging leader, continues to provide valuable training and development for young architects. V Architecture is proud to announce that three of our talented team members were part of this year’s participants:

      • Jorge Rivera
      • Frances David
      • Miraida Rodríguez

The CKLDP is designed to equip participants with the essential skills and knowledge to become influential leaders in their firms, communities, and the broader architectural field. The program’s curriculum spans various critical topics, including communication, collaboration, strategic planning, and advocacy. Over several months, participants engage in eight comprehensive sessions that increase their skills at working as a team, managing business, negotiating with prospective clients, and preparing for the future of the practice.

As is the custom for this program, participants from various firms worked together on selected projects, learned from experienced industry leaders, and actively engaged in community service projects. Our own Miraida Rodríguez was among those who helmed a special initiative to showcase the civic and community engagements of many in the field, including interviewing our own V Architecture President Ilia Ríos for a video segment

These activities enhanced the leadership capabilities of these talented professionals and strengthened their bonds with fellow architects, fostering a supportive and collaborative network.

V Architecture has been a proud supporter and benefactor of the CKLDP for the past three years, including the 2023-2024 session. Our commitment to leadership development is reflected in our continued sponsorship and active participation in the program. The inclusion of Jorge Rivera, Frances David, and Miraida Rodríguez in this year’s class underscores our dedication to nurturing talent and advancing the architectural profession.

The CKLDP’s impact on its participants is profound. It provides them with the tools to lead and innovate within their respective roles. As they return to their professional environments, they bring with them a wealth of knowledge and experience that will undoubtedly contribute to their personal growth and the success of their firms.

We look forward to seeing our team members’ remarkable achievements as they apply their newfound skills and insights to their work, further elevating the standards of V Architecture’s practice.
