As one of the leading Architecture schools in the Caribbean, the new School of Architecture and School of Fine Arts at the Rio Piedras campus of the University of Puerto Rico feature state-of-the-art facilities that successfully reflect the institution’s excellent reputation and that of its faculty.
Located on a large plot of land, the School of Architecture was designed for grand open areas, spacious corridors, state-of-the-art wireless computer labs, a modern library, an auditorium, a gallery, as well as climate-controlled archival spaces, and classrooms for students and faculty to exchange ideas freely.
Through sensitivities of proportion, linearity, rhythm and scale, and the use of carefully selected textures and tones, this modern facility makes a design statement while fitting within the contextual nature of the Rio Piedras campus, a local leader.
This project was a joint venture with Eduardo Bermudez Architects.
