Ilia Rios joined V Architecture in 1999, and was named partner and president in 2003. She has over 20 years of experience translating our clients’ mission into architectural form and leading them to a new understanding of the transformative role of architecture. With an accomplished manager’s skill, Ilia leads the firm through a design process characterized by a culture of collaboration and collegiality.
Ilia is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame School of Architecture, a registered architect in Puerto Rico and Florida and LEED® AP BD+C accredited by the Green Business Certification Institute, as well as a Certified Construction Contract Administrator accredited by the Construction Specification Institute.
Ilia was recognized as Distinguished Woman in the Construction Industry in 2007 by the San Juan Star, and as Woman to Watch 2014 by Caribbean Business. Also, she is deeply embedded in community and sits at the Board of Academia María Reina (a Catholic preparatory school in San Juan) since 2009. She now serves as Vice Chair.
