After three years of operation in the Luis Muñoz Rivera International Airport in a 975 sq ft venue, El Mesón Sandwiches Restaurant was relocated into an extraordinary 2,350 sq ft space inside Terminal B.
This new location (as well as the previous one), is located outside of the security area and therefore can be enjoyed by everyone attending the airport (not only ticketed travelers). The space is at the far end of Terminal B with direct access from the departure drop-off area, previously the Puerto Rico Tourism Company offices.
The restaurant provides a seating area and small private room to be used for private events. The client’s signature look was carried throughout the space with the “criolla” tile, wood tile and meson communal table, perfectly paired with modern elements. Additional wall graphics were provided for tourists to recognize and embrace the island and the Meson brand.
The architecture of both the interior and exterior create a strong design statement and make guests feel right at home. Other architectural highlights include high ceilings and lots of glazing to allow guests to enjoy the exterior, while creating a connection with the busy terminal.
This restaurant is the first Meson franchise, and is operated by MGI Caribe a company that develops and operates food and beverage outlets at the airport, as well as Las Américas in Santo Domingo, and Puerto Plaza, Samaná international airports in the Dominican Republic.
