El Mesón de Felipe, owners of El Mesón Sandwiches, has partnered with VArchitecture to design a number of their stores, amongst which is one under construction at Plaza Río Bayamón, inside a new commercial center that will be accessed through Road PR 177, near the Bayamón River.
The proposed design includes a large area to greet and serve guests, the main dining room, an efficiently-designed area for cooking and food preparation, refrigerated rooms, restrooms for customers and employees and a manager’s office. A mezzanine will be used for dry food storage, and will include an area for electric and telecommunication panels and a transformer.
The exterior was planned to accommodate two cisterns (one for drinking water and one for grey water), as well as a grease trap and storage for used oil from the kitchen. The design includes a drive-thru that fits 10 cars, and the lot owner will provide 26 parking spaces (two of which will comply with ADA standards). This project is conceived with an environmental awareness and will implement a recycling process in order to minimize the amount of solid waste.
The design will not only comply with the functional demands of the program, but will also result in a pleasant environment to give the customers a great experience. Stay tuned for updates as we work tirelessly towards this project’s completion
